So much engineering (and math) went into making this, and I am incredibly proud to present “The Ascension,” created for Poetic Portals, at Wayworld at The Factory St. Pete.

Overall size is 11.75″ x 15″ x 3.5″ and it utilizes watercolor, gouache, acrylic, acetate sheets, and LED lights enclosed in a shadow box with a hinged and magnetically closed door. You really truly need to experience this yourself, as the art exists in different levels in the 3D space, changing your view as you walk past it.

For this show, each artist was paired with a poet, and it was our job to interpret their words visually, which is such an amazing concept I am privileged to have been asked to take part in.
